I think that the first step of my life changes series is walking more. I live 30 seconds away from a nature reserve (one of the last things you would think would be in Central London) and it has been super relaxing walking through this every day to and from the station to go to work and back. Being surrounded by trees and flowing water is one of the most calming experiences especially now that the sun has started to make an appearance (dare I say it!).
Your surroundings really do play a huge part in your physical and mental wellbeing. I think that when you feel really low that the best thing to do is go for a walk surrounded by nature as it will subconsciously calm you down. I like the fact this is 15 minutes at the start and end of every day that is completely to myself to gather my thoughts and process all the things going on in life.
I don’t know about you but I often find myself wrapped up and stressed about stupid things which I end up overreacting on and often feeling overwhelmed. I feel that having that 30 minutes total completely alone and emersed in nature helps to ease the pressure in my mind. Needless to say, this is also and extra 30 minutes of exercise built into my day without stealing time from anything else that I want to do in the day. (Lets face it, that is usually sleep.)
One word of advice though, watch out for bird poo from above!!
